The CNNV is a National Resource Center supported by the National Center for Research Resources and the National Institutes of Mental Health of the NIH. The CNNV has the following goals:
Serve as a technical and intellectual resource for those interested in using viral transneuronal tracing to study the functional organization of the nervous system.
Develop improved transneuronal tracing technology and make it available to investigators throughout the United States via access to Center resources and training.
Serve as a repository for well-characterized reagents essential to the application of the method.
Stimulate collaborative multidisciplinary studies of mechanisms underlying viral neuroinvasiveness and pathogenesis.
